our backyard is blooming beautifully - especially in the late afternoon sun {and along with a good glass of wine and my puppy monster duke it has become my newest favorite place to be...}!!!!  loving this springy skirt with a flowing white silk tank and some funky jewels.  ive been on a nude clothing binge lately -- going to keep it up...i think it's the perfect summer shade and fabulous with a few pops of bright colors!! xx

THERE WAS AN ICE LUGE.  after britt and i explained how it worked {at fraternity parties} to her mother...she immediately insisted we try it out.  thank goodness that the alcohol was actually flowing into cups and not lips...haha.

these dancers have become quite common at santa barbara functions recently and are absolutely amazing to watch.  britt and i also just discovered an aerial dance studio {these guys also swing on ropes in the air...} and our first class is tomorrow night!!

thursday night i had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Saks in the City fundraiser for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation in Santa Barbara.  not only was it a blast BUT it raised money for a cause that is very close to my heart.  TBCF was established to help children with cancer by providing their parents with aid so that they may have their undivided attention throughout the course of their illness.  this charity is heroic in my mind and i only wish i had more to give :) also i cannot wait for another fun function of theirs!!  enjoy!!!

i am crazy for textures. i love mixing heavy knit with light silk and leather and chains. sometimes, i get dressed with textures in mind and other times i happen to glance down and think 'how cool'. here's a little collection of my favorite mixtures of colors and patterns.

this black poofy skirt is one of my black friday finds {via beehive} -- and i am in LOVE with it.  it is the perfect length...short enough to be really big and flouncy without looking strange. it is quite chilly out but i had to snap some pictures with the tee because i think the skirt will get the most wearing like this!!  i sense many holiday party outfits in the works...sequins...beading...oh my!!

also! the ivoryinklings shop will FINALLY be launched december 2nd!! i am going to start if off short and sweet so make sure to check it out early!!! xoxo

snowy d.i.y

i have become particularly annoyed with the lack of wintery weather in santa barbara as of late.  i am ready for the freezing winds and cozy sweaters.  trying to make myself feel better, i found this wonderful winter wonderland snowflake d.i.y. from free people and since it is one step up from elemetary school arts and crafts, i will be partaking.  check back to see my southern california snow-scape!! xx
