a few months back i had the pleasure to sit down with katey brunini of k brunini jewels for a little chat and ever since i have not been able to get the amazingly unusual pieces out of my mind.  inspired by travels around the globe and growing up in san diego, she combines precious metals and gems to create organic silhouettes that hug the body wonderfully.  definitely a designer to watch!!

in the hustle of moving out of my childhood home this weekend my parents and i stumbled upon their Omani jewelry collection - scoured straight from Bedouins in the 60's and 70's.  these huge silver pieces are so inspiring to me and i cannot wait to recreate some of these historical adornments with some modern touches!!
