a current affair

last weekend i attended A Current Affair: Pop-up Vintage Marketplace at the Cooper Building in Los Angeles and it was amazingggg. not only did i score some fantastic pieces of Alkemie jewelry but i was fortunate enough to get to see an exhibit styled by emmy award winner, David Zyla!  he has worked in costuming for the entertainment world for over 20 years and i was totally awestruck by his fabulous looks created with these beautiful vintage pieces. check out some of the detailing that made these outfits sing!!

how wonderful are theyyyyy?!?! i am so happy i had the chance to expeirence them!! if you would like to see more {um, i suggest you DO} check out Kelsi Smith's interview with David himself {here} and keep your eye out for his styling on ABC shows and broadway!! enjoy!! x

voodoo child

i sometimes fantasize about living in a big ancient house with years and years of history full of hand painted tiles and old wood floor...then i am rudely awakened by the newness of everything.  i would rather walk on hot coals than live in one of those "modern" cookie cutter houses.  ugh.  i think it's almost time for me to get out of southern california for a while...

also totally into these dark altars and the indian/mexican/voodoo sort of polytheistic magic.  dont worry i wont be holding any seances anytime soon...xx
