the winner of the CFDA/vogue fashion fund for 2010 will be announced on november 15th!  unless you have been living under a rock [...or just not as in love with pamela love, christian cota, and alturarra as i am...] you would know ever year the council of fashion designers of america  and vogue team up to aid an aspiring designer financially and to offer professional support to further the designer's vision.  winners of past CFDA/vogue ff include proenza schouler, alexander wang, and doo.ri.  runners up include vena cava, derek lam, rodarte, and 3.1 philip lim.  clearly, this award means A LOT.  this year there are 10 fabulous finalists - altuzarra, billy reid, christian cota, eddie borgo, gregory parkinson, loden dager, moss lipow, pamela love jewelry, prabal gurung and robert gellar.  the instant i heard the list i was all the way behind pamela love to take first place -- but now that i have watched all the vogue videos, (here), i am more obsessed with [almost] all of them than i could have ever imagined!!

the air smelled like winter today.  it was fabulous {although i left the house one layer short and was quite chilly for most of the day...} the woodsy smell and the cold tingling up my nostrils left me dreaming of proenza schouler fall 2010. so upon returning home (in the dark, darn day-light savings...) i immediately pulled up the luxurious pictures of the black leather and printed cerulean collection.  how wintery are these pieces!?! 

had to add the shoes (which are at the TIPPY TOP {under the a. wang bucket bag} of my xmas list!!) sheer genius!!!  photos via style.com

i am a HUGE proenza schouler fan - like so much so that i came home from shopping (crazy, i know) to make sure i could watch the live feed on style.com.  subsequently i have insisted my boyfriend watch it with me as i still sat in a complete trance.  the colorful palate and wearable textures were some of my favorite looks i have seen all week!  the collection featured a Japanese tie-dye technique called "shibori" which created the beautiful prints that served as a fabulous background for the statement necklaces (like really, STATEMENT pieces) that hun around many model's necks.  proenza schouler's models sported messy messy updos and minimal make up, which is absolutely wonderful for all of us who wake up 10 minutes before we're due at school/work/etc.  i totally recommend you watch the video of the show (it's posted on like every fashion website out there so i will not be redundant and put it here -- but really, if you dig jack and lazaro -- it's worth checking out!)

proenza schouler rst 2011

proenza schouler, named such from the maternal maiden names of the two STELLAR designers, jack mccollough and larazo hernandez, is a wonderful collection of youthful and creative pieces.

the resort pieces are funky and incredibly wearable - no matter where you are! the color scheme is also perfectly neutral and has the right pops of color in the perfect places!

im smitten :)

oh and the SHOES?! cannot wait to get my hands on a pair of those....
